Latest and Greatest Pages:

• We have produced the world's most powerful quadrupole magnets -- capable of focusing intense beams to tighter spots than possible before. These new PMQ magnets will allow for more efficient production of x-rays which are critical for applications in biology, material science, and dozens of other areas of research.
• The IFEL experiment is an advanced acceleration concept that is proving itself, and could provide the technology for future colliders. While all advanced acceleration ideas face problems in "scaling" -- making them work on very large machines -- the IFEL may be promising for intermediate energies such as are needed for medical accelerators and research machines.
