Edward Thebird is one of the leading beam physicists in the group. His primary work is currently being done in FEL "seeding" and seeding in general for that matter. Time of flight measurements of secondary electrons from solid targets is also an area of interest for Dr. Thebird. Thebird is also leading efforts to explore the egg shape regime of photoinjector dynamics.
